Upgrading rural radios in Guinea for more listeners and better content

Fondation Hirondelle has just acquired an important assignment of equipment for rural radios in Guinea, and a technical team is currently installing them. The first radios to benefit are the regional radios of Kankan, Kindia and Labé. In March, the technical team will go to all the stations in Guinea’s Forest region (Guinée Forestière) to complete the mission.

Rwanda tribunal has still to complete longest trial

The most complicated trial at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) is not finished. Although the Tribunal was due to close its doors at the end of 2014, the UN Security Council in December had to renew the mandate of certain judges to complete the longest trial in the history of international justice, which includes the only woman indicted by the ICTR, as well as five others.

Hirondelle News Agency : ICC/UGANDA – Top Ugandan rebel commander  Dominic Ongwen  transferred to  ICC

Arusha – Ugandan rebel commander Dominic Ongwen was on Tuesday transferred to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to face war crimes charges. Ugandan press reports say Ongwen, who was a child soldier, could be the first ICC suspect to confess.
