Radio Miraya (South Sudan), 15.02.2013 : Police begin locking up guns while off duty

 

Police have started registering their guns and locking them up in stores when they are not on duty.

The order was given by the Ministry of Interior and is being implemented at all duty stations across the country.

The police commissioner of Central Equatoria State, Major General Abraham Manyuat, said the move is a security measure to curb crimes.

Major General Manyuat says the directive is being implemented across all security agencies.
