Fondation Hirondelle and Frontier Myanmar, a digital and print news media in Myanmar, have launched a partnership to address important gaps in content and access to information on human rights and related issues in Myanmar. With support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, our organizations will produce a weekly podcast that will bring underreported stories, diverse voices, and a deeper look at the issues to new audiences in Myanmar. Produced in Burmese and English languages the podcasts will be available to local media partners for broadcast, download and sharing on social media.
The podcast will launch in September 2017. In June, we began training sessions with Frontier Myanmar staff on podcast production by a senior radio producer. This hands-on training will continue throughout the summer up until the launch of the podcast. The project will also soon identify a network of partner media from around the country who will contribute to the production of the podcasts, and who will receive editorial and technical support and training.
