Now an integral part of journalists\u2019 daily work, it can facilitate certain tasks (translation, editing, research). However, AI remains above all an assistant, as two journalists from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hirondelle.org\/en\/our-work\/projects\/geographic\/africa\/chad\">Studio Hirondelle Chad<\/a><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/hirondelle-tchad.org\/radio-et-intelligence-artificielle-enjeux-et-opportunites\/\">highlight in a report produced for World Radio Day<\/a>. Photograph: Studio Yafa.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A day to discuss AI: what changes for the media?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Studio Hirondelle Chad <\/strong>brought together two schools to debate the role of radio in the age of social media and artificial intelligence. In Mali, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hirondelle.org\/en\/our-work\/projects\/geographic\/africa\/mali\">Studio Tamani <\/a><\/strong>dedicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studiotamani.org\/199329-journee-mondiale-de-la-radio-edition-speciale\">a special morning programme<\/a> to these issues, focusing on fact-checking and the use of AI in newsrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To explore these themes, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hirondelle.org\/en\/our-work\/projects\/geographic\/africa\/central-african-republic\">Radio Ndeke Luka<\/a><\/strong> devoted its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiondekeluka.org\/96937-intelligence-artificielle-quels-risques-pour-nos-journalistes\">Patara debate programme to changes in the media landscape and journalistic practices in the Central African Republic<\/a>. The show also addressed journalists\u2019 working conditions in the current context and the risks they face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Tunis, Fondation Hirondelle\u2019s office took part in an event co-organised with Radio Dream FM in Kairouan. On its flagship programme <em>Tous \u00e0 la Fada<\/em>, the studio opened a debate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studiokalangou.org\/139552-lia-generative-peut-elle-rapprocher-la-radio-des-jeunes-ou-au-contraire-les-en-eloigner?fbclid=IwY2xjawP_0eVleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeSip_eVfRhVtVIocGDfgXqLSWBl3dlSy0VsME9SqWCIH1fY87kEjvGgwBAeE_aem_N4SLfrlnzjFdMht0Ni67Iw\">on whether AI can help bring radio closer to younger audiences<\/a>.
