 | The Hirondelle Foundation practices a journalism known for its strictness. It has adopted the international declaration of the rights and obligations of journalists.
It provides all its newsrooms with a Code of Ethics. It encourages its newsrooms to think ethically by analyzing concrete cases as they arise. It places particular emphasis on the practice of double checking sources, investigative reporting on the ground and distinguishing between hard facts and opinion.
The choice and the emphasis given to news is made according to public interest. The Foundation also gives particular attention to the training of journalists.
While the dissemination of impartial information lies at the heart of our work, we do not forget the other things that go to make up the modern media scene: music, entertainment, interactive broadcasts, public service programs and magazines.
We set up our media operations in an environment of strife and social tension and in this context they must work effectively towards resolving conflicts.
Our media operations must help provide communication channels between individuals and among groups and factions who no longer communicate.
Everyone must be able to express themselves no matter what their social status, responsibilities, or religious or ethnic affiliations | |
