A workshop titled “Disinformation in Humanitarian Contexts: Lessons Learnt and Ways Forward” was held on 8 October 2025 in Brussels. The event, co-organised by Fondation Hirondelle and VOICE and hosted by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brought together around 30 participants from humanitarian organisations, EU institutions, and expert organisations based in Brussels and beyond.
The discussions helped identify concrete ways to strengthen efforts against disinformation in humanitarian settings. Participants notably highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary and preventive approach, as well as the need to build trust, reinforce local partnerships, and promote media literacy, all essential to protect humanitarian space.
