Since 2023, Fondation Hirondelle’s three Sahel media outlets – Studio Yafa in Burkina Faso, Studio Tamani in Mali and Studio Kalangou in Niger – have been making co-productions about common challenges including peace issues, security, governance, gender, migration and climate change. Co-productions make it possible to address these issues regionally and inclusively.
These regularly-produced programmes are based on current news and focus on sharing initiatives that lead to concrete and reproducible solutions. They aim to promote constructive debate, encourage mutual understanding and highlight solutions.
Broadcast in 14 languages, the co-productions include news magazines, reports, public debates and fact-checking initiatives.
With 188 partner radio stations, 12 TV stations and a presence on 3 websites and on social media platforms, these co-productions reach more than 7 million people in the Sahel region.
