Fondation Hirondelle is recruiting three complementary Fundraising Specialists – Philanthropy, each with a distinct area of responsibility. This English-language vacancy concerns the position focused on developing fundraising opportunities and partnerships in German-speaking Switzerland. The three specialists will work closely together to strengthen the Foundation’s private funding base and help finance reliable, independent information in fragile contexts.
the role
The Fundraising Specialist will develop Fondation Hirondelle’s presence, networks and funding opportunities in German-speaking Switzerland. The role involves identifying and cultivating prospective donors and partners, building long-term relationships, preparing compelling funding proposals and contributing to a coordinated philanthropy and fundraising strategy in close collaboration with colleagues responsible for other funding portfolios.
Your profile
Five to ten years of relevant experience in fundraising and partnership development, together with a strong understanding of the philanthropic sector and private funding mechanisms.
A well-established professional network in German-speaking Switzerland, or demonstrated ability to develop such a network effectively.
Excellent writing skills and the ability to prepare compelling funding proposals and high-quality donor reports.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with a wide range of partners and donors.
Excellent command of German and a very good command of French or English; the ability to work in all three languages is a strong asset.
Experience using CRM tools, combined with excellent organisational, follow-up and priority-management skills.
A strong team player, with a clear focus on objectives and results.
Excellent command of standard IT tools in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
